Catching up: We like hanging out with hippies.....

It is time to catch up in a SERIOUS way. Let it begin.

There seem to be a few common denominators in C's and my choice of activities - one of which is the presence of hippies. If hippies are there having a good time, so are we! Such was the case at the Kerrville Folk Festival.

All joking aside, the Kerrville Folk Festival has long been on my list of things to experience in Central Texas and it did not disappoint. (A shout-out to C for being so good to me and making it happen. He is so good to me.) The heat was blazing, the dust was blowing, the tent set-ups were intense (we didn't join the camp-out scene), the hygiene was slim and the tunes were good. We watched the new folk artist competition where each artist performed two songs and we loved the variety. The evening highlight was running into Cheryl Wheeler who sings "75 Septembers" (a fantastic song - ps she looks more like a cat-lady than a folk singer. C was sure it wasn't her and that me approaching her would be hilariously awkward. It was epic!) and asking her if she'd play it during her set - which she did! Awesomeness.

Kerrville Folk Festival? CHECK!
